Ingredients
- 500g Betagro Fully Cooked Chicken Karaage, prepared according to package direction
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) dark soy sauce
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) Chinese cooking wine
- 2 tbsp (30 mL) rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) chicken stock or water
- 1/4 cup (60 mL) granulated sugar
- 1 tsp (5 mL) sesame oil
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) water
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, minced
- 4 to 6 dried chilies, optional
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Sesame seeds, optional
Preparation
- Prepare the karaage according to package directions and set aside.
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, rice wine vinegar, chicken stock, sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water until smooth.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add vegetable oil, garlic, ginger, and dried chilies if using. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the sauce and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring, until thickened and glossy.
- Add the prepared karaage and green onions. Toss gently until evenly coated.
- Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
